HEY, I’M MICHELLE!
I’m a Tampa and Asheville-based photographer, painter, and the creative eye behind Silver Moon Photography. My approach blends artistic creativity with a relaxed, easygoing style—so you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Whether it’s a wedding, family milestone, or professional branding session, I bring a perfectionist’s eye for detail to every image, ensuring your most meaningful moments are beautifully preserved.
With a passion for connecting with people and over fifteen years of experience, I create imagery that tells your unique story while delivering a seamless, stress-free photography experience you’ll actually enjoy.
THE PROFESSIONAL STUFF
My journey started young. I was that kid who always had a disposable camera in hand, capturing everyday moments and the beauty around me. In high school, I discovered my mom’s vintage AE-1 Canon, and from that moment, I was hooked. I later earned my Bachelor’s degree in Photography and Fine Art Painting from Florida State University, an experience that shaped the creative, detail-oriented style I bring to every session.
I began my professional photography career in 2010 during my internship with Pix ‘n Pages, an Orlando-based company specializing in dog show photography. As their first-ever hire, I traveled nationwide photographing dog shows and learning the ins and outs of the photography industry. More than a decade later, I still team up with them for major shows and deeply value the mentorship they’ve offered me over the years.
In 2012, I launched Silver Moon Custom Art & Photography, a brand that blends my fine art background with a love for authentic, emotive photography. Based in Tampa, Florida for many years, I built a trusted reputation photographing weddings, engagements, family portraits, corporate events, and milestone celebrations across Florida, the U.S., and abroad.
In 2023, I relocated to the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, where I now serve both new and returning clients throughout the Southeast—including Asheville, Tampa, and beyond.

THE PERSONAL STUFF
Once a dog person, I’ve somehow transitioned into a full-on cat person—and now my partner and I share our little mountaintop home just outside Asheville, North Carolina, with five quirky cats. I’m a gypsy at heart, a lover of travel, and someone who feels most alive in the great outdoors. Whether I’m hiking, paddling down a river, or standing on top of a mountain, I love experiencing the world from every perspective—especially through the lens of a camera.
I’m also a dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher, which grounds me both personally and professionally. Photography, for me, is about adventure, connection, and the magic of preserving fleeting moments in time. I bring this sense of wonder to every session, along with a bubbly (but strong!) personality that shines in high-energy environments—especially at weddings. I’m often told my “nice bossiness” is a welcomed quality on a wedding day, where a little direction can go a long way in creating a seamless, stress-free experience.
At heart, I’m both a social butterfly and a deeply empathetic soul, which I believe allows me to thrive in all kinds of photography settings—from large-scale events to quiet, intimate moments. I truly love what I do. It’s an incredible honor to witness your most meaningful life moments and to be trusted with capturing them. My number one goal is to deliver photographs that feel timeless, honest, and uniquely you—images you’ll look back on for a lifetime. Giving Back
In addition to my photography work, I proudly serve as the Vice President and Lead Photographer for The Affirmations Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering cancer survivors, domestic violence survivors, and all women and girls through the power of self-love and self-affirmation.
Our mission is to help women rediscover their inherent worth and beauty—regardless of scars, trauma, or societal expectations. As the project’s photographer, I create empowering portrait experiences that celebrate strength, resilience, and identity. Through storytelling, visual art, and community outreach, we aim to remind every woman that she is enough—just as she is.
